Tabling and Public Relations
Visibility and connections are key to a successful new chapter establishment. We strive to reach as many students as we can through tabling, information meetings, and connecting with student organizations and student leaders. We come to you - visiting chapter and student organization meetings, setting up in the cafeteria or hot spots on campus, and meeting everyone and anyone one on one.
While we are getting our name out on campus, we will start hosting small and large recruitment events for potential new members. These are some potential new members at Randolph-Macon College - our newest chapter, at our Mardi Gras party where we made masks and ate yummy food. We also host events like, Grow with Tri Sigma, where PNMs decorate pottery, learn more about Tri Sigma, and take home a succulent, or our Sigma Stories event where we share about our personal Tri Sigma story and the impact of the organization on maternal health and pre-mature births through our partnership with the March of Dimes.
After our numerous recruitment events, we are ready to celebrate our bid day. We hope to host an event as close to what a new member would experience on Panhellenic Bid Day, so we will ask our Panhellenic sisters what makes bid day special and try to make that happen. We also hope you can join us in welcoming our new members into your community before we kick-off our new member education and special ceremonies.
Initiation and Installation
After our new member program, usually 6 weeks, we are ready for initiation and chapter installation. This is when the chapter gets it charter! Typically special guests from national headquarters, executive council and Tri Sigma chapters come to celebrate with the newest addition, and we hope to invite parents, family members and the university community when space allows.
